Rahul Dravid an Indian cricket coach and former captain of the Indian national team, is currently serving as the head coach of the team. Rahul Dravid was previously the Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy and coached the India Under-19 and India A teams. Rahul Dravid is known for his successful batting technique and is considered one of the greatest batsmen in cricket history. Rahul Dravid scored 24,177 runs in international cricket and is colloquially known as Mr. Dependable and The Wall. Rahul Dravid played a key role in India’s victory at the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy. Born in a Marathi family and raised in Bangalore, Rahul Dravid began playing cricket at a young age and represented Karnataka at various levels. In 2004, Rahul Dravid became the first player to score a century in all ten Test-playing countries. Rahul Dravid holds the record for the most catches taken by a non-wicket-keeper in Test cricket and has never been out for a golden duck in his 286 Test innings. Rahul Dravid began playing cricket at the age of 12 and represented Karnataka at various youth levels. Rahul Dravid caught the attention of former cricketer Keki Tarapore during a summer camp and showed his talent by scoring a century for his school team and also playing as a wicketkeeper. Rahul Dravid made his Ranji Trophy debut in 1991, impressing with his batting skills and earning a place in the South Zone cricket team after a successful season. Rahul Dravid’s performances for India A against England A in 1994-95 further boosted his chances of national team selection. Rahul Dravid, a former Indian cricketer, made his international debut in 1996. Rahul Dravid’s early years in international cricket were marked by contrasting fortunes in Test and One Day International (ODI) cricket. Rahul Dravid, a prominent name in cricket, joined the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the icon player and captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Despite doubts about his impact in the shortest format, Dravid emerged as RCB’s highest run-scorer in the 2008 IPL season, amassing 371 runs in 14 matches with a strike rate of 124.50. He achieved this feat with a couple of fifties and a top score of 75* against the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Although not leading the team, Dravid continued to play a crucial role with the bat, guiding RCB to the knockout stages by scoring 271 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 115.81. He contributed one half-century and achieved a highest score of 66 during this season, which turned out to be his last with RCB. Notably, Dravid played a significant role in nurturing young talents like Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey, and Sourabh Tiwary.In the 2011 edition of the IPL, Dravid joined the Rajasthan Royals. However, in this season, he played solely as a batsman. In 12 games, Dravid scored 343 runs at a strike rate of 109.24, including one half-century.
