Ravi Shastri’s contributions to Indian cricket have been significant, both as a player and as a mentor, making him an influential figure in the sport. 

 Early Life and Cricketing Beginnings 

Ravi Shastri’s passion for cricket was evident from an early age. He attended Don Bosco High School in Mumbai, where he honed his cricketing skills. His talents were recognized at a young age, and he made his first-class debut for Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1979-80. He was a consistent performer in domestic cricket and soon earned a place in the national team. 

 International Debut and Rise to Prominence

Ravi Shastri made his international debut for India in December 1981, in a Test match against New Zealand. He showcased his potential as a reliable all-rounder, capable of contributing with both bat and ball.
