Indian cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad (born 31 January 1997) competes for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Maharashtra in domestic competition. Ruturaj Gaikwad played against Sri Lanka in July 2021 to make his cricketing debut for India. In the 2021 Indian Premier League competition, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored the most runs. Since the Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2021, Ruturaj Gaikwad has served as the captain of Maharashtra in both List A and T20. In the year 2022, Ruturaj Gaikwad guided Maharashtra to the Vijay Hazare Trophy final. Pune, Maharashtra, is where Ruturaj Gaikwad comes from. At the age of 13, Ruturaj Gaikwad enrolled at the Varroc Dilip Vengsarkar Academy run by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) in Thergaon, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune. Ruturaj Gaikwad earned player of the match honours after scoring 63* (71) for Varroc Vengsarkar Academy in the Cadence Trophy of 2010 against Mumbai’s MIG Cricket club. At Cadence Cricket Ground, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s academy defeated MIG Cricket Club by seven wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad and his colleague Vinay scored a total of 522 runs in their match in the 2015 Maharashtra Invitational Tournament. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 306 runs in the contest. Ruturaj Gaikwad made his first-class debut for Maharashtra in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy and his Twenty20 debut in the 2016-17 Inter-State Twenty-20 Tournament. Ruturaj Gaikwad has played for various teams in Indian domestic cricket, including India A, India B, India Blue, Maharashtra, and India U-23. Ruturaj Gaikwad achieved notable performances, such as scoring centuries in the Mandke Trophy and an unbeaten 187 for India A against Sri Lanka A. Ruturaj Gaikwad had an impressive run in the 2021-22 Vijay Hazare Trophy, equalling Virat Kohli’s record of scoring the most hundreds in a single tournament and accumulating over 600 runs for Maharashtra. In November 2022, Ruturaj Gaikwad created history by hitting seven sixes (one off a no-ball) in an over, becoming the first batter to achieve this feat in all forms of cricket. Ruturaj Gaikwad further solidified his record-breaking streak by registering 12 centuries in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, surpassing the previous joint record of 11 centuries held by Robin Uthappa and Ankit Bawne. Ruturaj  Gaikwad was selected for both the ODI and T20I teams by India in June 2021 in preparation for their series against Sri Lanka. On July 28, 2021, Ruturaj  Gaikwad played in his first T20I match for India against Sri Lanka. Ruturaj  Gaikwad was included in India’s ODI team for their series against South Africa in December 2021. Ruturaj  Gaikwad earned his first T20I half-century against South Africa in June 2022. Ruturaj Gaikwad was selected for India’s ODI team for their away series against the West Indies in July 2022. Ruturaj Gaikwad was purchased by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in December 2018 at the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. Ruturaj Gaikwad made his first IPL century against the Rajasthan Royals on October 2, 2021, with 101 not out. Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed to Chennai Super Kings’ total by scoring 32 runs off 27 balls in the finals on October 15 when CSK defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by a score of 27 runs. Ruturaj  Gaikwad was given the Emerging Player of the Year title in addition to winning the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs (635) in the 2021 competition.
