Axar Patel was born on January 20, 1994, Axar Patel currently represents India in all forms of cricket as a bowling all-rounder. Axar Patel participates in both the Indian Premier League for the Delhi Capitals and domestic cricket for Gujarat. Axar Patel is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and a left-handed hitter. On June 15, 2014, Axar Patel played against Bangladesh in his first ODI. Axar Patel was chosen for the 15-man Indian team that will compete in the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. On February 13, 2021, Axar Patel played his first Test match for India against England and claimed 7 wickets. Axar Patel is well renowned for his Test cricket wicket-taking consistency. On January 26, 2023, Axar Patel wed Meha Patel in Vadodara, Gujarat.

Career :

In the first innings of his second first-class match against Delhi in November 2013, Axar Patel had 6 for 55. Axar Patel had never previously taken five wickets. Axar Patel only appeared in one first-class game for Gujarat in his inaugural season, but Axar Patel performed better in 2013. With seven wickets, including a four-for against UAE in the semi-final, Axar Patel was one of the major factors in the India Under-23s’ 2013 ACC Emerging Teams Cup championship victory.In the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy, Axar Patel was one of Gujarat’s more reliable players, ending the campaign with 369 runs at an average of 46.12 and 29 wickets at 23.58. Axar Patel was selected as the BCCI Under-19 cricketer of the year for the 2012–2013 campaign in the early months of 2014. Axar Patel was included in the India Red team’s roster for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy in August of that year. Axar Patel was included on India C’s roster for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2019. After Axar Patel’s impressive performance in the 2014 IPL, Axar Patel earned a place in the Indian ODI squad for the tour of Bangladesh. Axar Patel made his ODI debut in the first match of the series and took 1/59 runs. Axar Patel was selected as part of India’s 15-man squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup. Axar Patel made his Twenty20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe in July 2015. Axar Patel was named as a stand-by player for India’s squad in the 2019 Cricket World Cup. In January 2021, Axar Patel was included in India’s Test squad for the series against England. Axar Patel made his Test debut against England in February 2021 after a gap of almost three years. In his debut Test series, Axar Patel took 27 wickets at an impressive average of 10.59, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker. Axar Patel has also represented India in the T20 World Cup, was part of squads for various tours, and scored his maiden ODI half-century against West Indies in July 2022, securing a match-winning six.

IPL :

Axar Patel signed with the Mumbai Indians IPL franchise in 2013 but didn’t play until he was released. In 2014, Axar Patel joined the Kings XI Punjab and had a successful season, taking 17 wickets. Axar Patel was retained by the Kings XI Punjab for the 2015 IPL season and contributed 206 runs and 13 wickets. On May 1, 2016, during a match against the Gujarat Lions, Axar Patel achieved a hat-trick and took four wickets in five balls. This exceptional performance helped Kings XI Punjab secure a 23-run victory. Axar Patel was retained by Kings XI Punjab for the 2018 season. In Test cricket, Axar Patel became the 9th Indian player to take a five-wicket haul on his debut. Axar Patel is the second left-arm spinner, after Dilip Doshi, to achieve this feat. In December 2018, Axar Patel was signed by the Delhi Capitals in the player auction for the 2019 IPL season. Axar Patel was retained by the Delhi Capitals for the 2021 season.
