Shubman Gill, a right-handed opening batsman for Punjab in domestic cricket, was born on September 8, 1999, and currently represents India in international cricket. Shubman Gill competes in the Indian Premier League for Gujarat Titans. Notably, Player of the Tournament honour was won by Shubman Gill while serving as the vice-captain of the Indian Under-19 cricket team at the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Shubman Gill is regarded as one of the World’s most gifted young cricketers. Shubman Gill is also the youngest player to ever make a double century in a One Day International cricket match. For the Indian men’s T20I team, Shubman Gill also holds the record for the highest score. Didar Singh Gill is the grandfather of Shubman Gill, whose father Lakhwinder Singh was a farmer. Shubman Gill was born into a Sikh Jat family in the village which is close to Jalalabad Tehsil in the Fazilka region of Punjab. Shahneel Gill is Shubman Gill’s sister. For practice and a turf pitch to play on, his father Lakhwinder built a cricket pitch on his farm. Shubman Gill’s father also used to dare village youngsters to take his son’s wicket, rewarding them with 100 rupees if they were successful. Shubman Gill received tutoring from his school for a while after his father enrolled him in the Punjab Cricket Association’s academy. Shubman Gill’s life in childhood was mostly spent in his village. Shubman Gill’s father wanted to become a cricketer. Shubman Gill has remained engaged in farming since he was a toddler. Shubman Gill is emotionally connected to his farm and village. Shubman Gill was born into a Jat Sikh family in Fazilka, Punjab. There were agricultural properties held by Shubman Gill’s family. Shubman Gill’s father was unable to realize his own ambitions. Career :
On February 25, 2017, Shubman Gill faced the Vidharbha team in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy, making his List A debut for Punjab. On November 17, 2017, Shubman Gill made his first-class debut for Punjab in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy. Later the same month, when batting for Punjab against Services in the second first-class game, Shubman Gill recorded his first century. Shubman Gill scored 129 against the Bengals. Shubman Gill was selected for the India C team in October 2018 for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy. Shubman Gill made a century in the last round-robin game against India A to enable India C to advance to the championship. Shubman Gill was listed as one of eight players to watch before the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy in the month that followed. Shubman Gill got his first double century in first-class cricket, reaching 268 runs, in December 2018 during Punjab’s Ranji Trophy match against Tamil Nadu. When Punjab needed 338 runs from 57 overs on December 25, 2018, the fourth day of their Ranji Trophy match against Hyderabad, Shubman Gill virtually single-handedly carried his team to victory by scoring 148 off 154 balls. The run chase was completed in 57 overs with a draw. Shubman Gill had 990 runs in first-class cricket as of January 1st, 2019, coming from fourteen innings across eight matches. After Shubman Gill’s fifteenth innings of first-class cricket, Shubman Gill scored his 1,000th run a week later. With 728 runs in five games, Shubman Gill was Punjab’s top run-scorer in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy. International Cricket Council (ICC) named Shubman Gill one of the eight players to watch in March 2019.

After making significant contributions to the India U19 team’s world cup victory in 2018, opener Shubman Gill of Punjab has received a lot of appreciation from all corners. Shubman Gill made significant contributions in both his first and 2019 seasons after being purchased by the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018. KKR team management kept Shubman Gill because they recognized his batting potential. Shubman Gill achieved great things after making his ODI debut for India in New Zealand in 2019 and his Test debut in Australia in 2020. Prior to the 2022 TATA IPL Auction, KKR let him leave.
