A wicket-keeper batter for the Indian cricket team, Rishabh Pant (born 4 October 1997) is an international cricketer from India. Despite having represented India in all formats, Rishabh Pant is best recognized for his Test cricket scoring consistency. Rishabh Pant leads the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League and participates for Delhi in domestic cricket. At the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, Rishabh Pant served as vice-captain of the India U-19 squad, which finished in second place. Rishabh Pant made his Test debut in August 2018, Rishabh Pant’s One Day International (ODI) debut was in October 2018, and Rishabh Pant’s Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for India was in January 2017. At the 2018 ICC Awards, Rishabh Pant received the ICC Men’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year award in January 2019. Rishabh Pant won the Men’s Player of the Month award in the inaugural ICC Player of the Month Awards in February 2021. After KL Rahul, the designated captain, was unable to play in the T20I series against South Africa due to an injury in June 2022, Rishabh Pant was selected as the team’s captain. Rajendra Pant and Saroj Pant welcomed Rishabh Pant into the world at Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. When Rishabh Pant was 12 years old, Rishabh Pant would go to Delhi on the weekends with his mother to train with Tarak Sinha at the Sonnet Cricket Academy. Because they couldn’t find acceptable housing in the city, Rishabh Pant and his mother remained at a Gurdwara in Moti Bagh. To play U-13 and U-15 cricket, Sinha advised Rishabh Pant to transfer to Rajasthan, but it was unsuccessful. In order to improve as a batter, Rishabh Pant’s mentor told him to change every aspect of his batting style. Rishabh Pant’s pivotal moment occurred while Rishabh Pant was representing Delhi In U-19 cricket against Assam. Rishabh Pant led all scorers with 35 in his first inning before hitting 150 in the second, which he considers to be the most significant outing of his career. Rishabh Pant’s 18-ball fifty against Nepal on February 1st, 2016, while playing in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, was the fastest at this level. In April 2017, Rishabh Pant’s father passed away as a result of a cardiac arrest.

Career :

Rishabh Pant made his first-class debut in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy on October 22, 2015, and his List A debut in the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy the following month. The third-youngest Indian to record a triple century in first-class cricket, Rishabh Pant scored 308 runs in one innings against Maharashtra in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy. In Delhi’s match against Jharkhand on November 8, 2016, Rishabh Pant scored the fastest century in the Ranji Trophy with just 48 balls. Rishabh Pant was selected as Delhi’s captain for the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy in February 2017. Rishabh Pant succeeded Gautam Gambhir, who had coached Delhi to the previous season’s final. A decision to get Rishabh Pant ready for the future, according to Delhi coach Bhaskar Pillai. Rishabh Pant made the second-fastest century in a Twenty20 competition on January 14, 2018, in a game between Himachal Pradesh and Delhi in the 2017–18 Zonal T20 League, scoring 100 from 32 balls. Rishabh Pant made his debut for the Indian T20I team in February 2017, becoming the youngest player to debut in a T20I for India at the age of 19 years and 120 days.  Rishabh Pant became the fastest Indian wicket-keeper to affect fifty dismissals in Test cricket in September 2019. In January 2021, Rishabh Pant became the fastest Indian wicket-keeper to reach 1,000 runs in Test cricket. Rishabh Pant faced criticism and comparisons with MS Dhoni during the 2020-21 period, struggled in the IPL, and was dropped from the limited-overs team. However, Rishabh Pant made a strong comeback in the second Test against Australia in December 2020, playing a crucial role in a draw. In January 2021, Rishabh Pant played a match-winning inning of 89 not out as India chased down a target of 328 in the fourth innings at The Gabba, ending Australia’s long unbeaten streak at the venue. Rishabh Pant’s impressive performances led to his inclusion in India’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, and Rishabh Pant was named in the ICC Men’s Test Team of the Year for 2021. Rishabh Pant continued to make records, including scoring the fastest half-century by an Indian batter in a Test match in March 2022 and recording his maiden ODI century in July 2022 during India’s tour of England.

IPL :

On the same day that Rishabh Pant struck a century for the India U-19 squad in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, leading them into the semifinals, the Delhi Daredevils acquired him ahead of the 2016 Indian Premier League. In his third game of the year, Rishabh Pant scored 69 runs off 40 balls to help Delhi defeat Gujarat Lions by eight wickets. Rishabh Pant scored 97 runs from 43 balls against the same side in the 2017 season. The then-highest individual score by an Indian cricketer in IPL history was recorded by Rishabh Pant during the 2018 season of the Indian Premier League when Rishabh Pant struck an unbeaten 128 off 63 balls against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Rishabh Pant also passed the record for the second-youngest IPL player to achieve a century. After regular captain Shreyas Iyer was forced to miss the whole Indian Premier League in March 2021 due to injury, Rishabh Pant was named captain of the Delhi Capitals for that season. Additionally, he was kept on as captain for the 2022 IPL season. On 30 December 2022, Rishabh Pant was involved in a near-fatal car crash on the Delhi-Dehradun highway near Roorkee. Rishabh Pant was unavailable for IPL 2023 season due to this reason.
